**This post is just here so that it gets indexed on google. Disregard it DbP, I'm just too lazy to make an account on some gayass Mac forum**
So I've found a need this past week to do some MAC address spoofing, google can't find it so I said fuck it, I'll do it myself. And since I'm a lazy son of a bitch I was too lazy to go over to my PC. So let's get to it. This is how you find the MAC address of a remote computer BEHIND THE SAME ROUTER, from OS X. Open up Finder. Find the name of the shared computer in the sidebar, you're going to need this later. Pop open terminal, if you're semi-retarded that's in your Applications -- Utilities folder. Once you get past the login prompt copy this in: Code:
ping putthecomputernamehere.local You'll be returned one line with an IP address in it, write that down. Close that window and open up a new one with Command-N. In this window, type in Code:
arp -a The end. HOW TO CHANGE YOUR MAC ADDRESS IN OS X In terminal, from an account with admin privileges: Code:
airport -z sudo ifconfig en1 ether puttheMACyouwanthere ifconfig en1 | grep ether sudo ifconfig en1 up
